Hei mu er, also known as wood ear mushrooms, are popular fungi in Chinese cuisine and medicine. We can't really speak on the medicinal properties, so let’s get cooking! Relatively mild on its own, this mushroom has many crevices perfect for absorbing the flavors, nuances, and aromas of whatever dish it's in. It’s also known for its unique crunch!
